A tale of two tribes: The boys narrowly beat the girls as the camp is split in two on I’m A Celebrity

The battle for immunity has begun after the camp was divided in two on Thursday night’s episode of I’m A Celebrity.
The news was met with enthusiasm when they were told it was boys against girls as they compete against one another in a series of daily challenges, with the winning tribe becoming exempt from the public vote at the first elimination.
And nothing got the starving stars’ competitive juices flowing quicker than the promise of a delicious sugary treat for the victors of the first challenge.

‘We are going to whip the boys a**es and I can’t wait to see them cry’, Irish model Nadia Forde brazenly declared.
Jimmy Bullard teased: ‘You’ve got Kendra-no-stars over there, you’ve got no chance!’
After being given hideous uniforms to put on, the girls – aka the Galahs – picked Melanie Sykes and Kendra Wilkinson to compete in the first test, while Jake Quickenden and Tinchy Stryder volunteered for the boys’ Wombats team.

The four celebrities went head-to-head in the Poles Apart challenge, in which the aim was to be the last man standing as they tried to keep two buckets filled with nasty surprises aloft using just two poles.
The overly-confident boys thought they had it in the bag, but Tinchy was the first to let go.
X Factor reject Jake said: ‘We’re just going to get inside Kendra’s head. That may sound harsh but I’ve not wanted brownies and ice cream more in my whole life.’
Confident: Jake Quickenden barely batted an eyelid during the challenge

Meanwhile, poor Kendra – who has competed in a massive five trials so far – was having a tough time with the insects crawling all over her.
‘It’s in my a** and it’s in my neck!’, she screeched as she writhed around.
Mel giggled: ‘She was screaming the funniest things.’
Toughing it out: The TV presenter was the last woman standing alongside Jake, but she then lost the tie-breaker question and was completely gutted

The physically fit presenter and Jake were the last two standing, but Mel lost the tie-breaker question about how long they had been doing the challenge for.
‘I was so gutted I actually wanted to cry,’ said Mel as Jake consoled her with a cuddle.
The Wombats and the Galahs then peeled off to have dinner in two separate camps, with the girls’ disappointment at missing out on dessert disappearing when Kendra revealed she had won a full house of 10 stars during her Bushtucker Trial earlier in the day.
There was much celebration as both sides realised they would be enjoying a slap-up Thanksgiving meal as a result.
And the men didn’t waste any time in wolfing down their extra prize of brownies and ice-cream, with Tinchy summing it up by licking his lips and declaring, ‘That was totes amaze.’
Finally, the Wombats headed over to the Galahs’ camp and declared they had unanimously voted for Mel to join their tribe.
While Kendra looked gutted, Mel enthused: ‘I’m really glad the guys picked me. It’s safety in numbers, it’s all about immunity.’
‘It was unanimous that we would take Mel because of how strong she is in every department’, Carl ‘Foggy’ Fogarty explained.
Honorary Wombat: Mel was unanimously chosen to join the boys' tribe and will be safe from elimination if they continue their winning streak
