She's already got beef with PETA, and it seems they'll be even more upset with Lady Gaga's latest furry ensemble.
The singer stepped out in New York looking a polar bear on Monday, wearing a hooded long coat made out of white pelt.
She continued the animal theme with a pair of gloves which looked like they were made out of the heads of two Arctic badgers.
Arctic fashion: Lady Gaga hits the streets of New York in a white fur hooded coat
The
furriness continued to her feet with a pair of lined heels with a rose
gold toe, and she only displayed a hint of diamond jewellery from
beneath her hood that she pulled over her face as she walked down the
street.
It
seems Gaga is embracing fur this winter as she was seen earlier in the
day wearing a green and grey shaggy ensemble with fluorescent trousers
to match.
PETA
once called the singer out for telling Ellen Degeneres, 'I hates fur
and I don't wear fur,' then stepping out in numerous pelts.
Animals: Her gloves had what looked like Arctic badger heads sewn onto them
Snow queen: The singer looked like she had just walked out of the pages of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe
Gaga responded on her website, claiming the fur - real or not - was art.
'I
am choosing not to comment on whether or not the furs I purchase are
faux fur-pile or real because I would think it [hypocritical] not to
acknowledge the python, ostrich, cow hide, leather, lamb, alligator,
'Kermit' and not to mention meat, that I have already worn,' she wrote.
'I
have truly always stayed away from skinned fur, especially [because] I
have never been able to afford a nice one, but this does not mean my
morals are rigid and that I won't bend at the sight of an absolute art
piece of a coat. I have no chains about this.
Warm: Gaga certainly looked like she wouldn't let the winter weather beat her
Mixed opinions: PETA has criticised Gaga for wearing fur after saying that she hates it
She
added: 'You see a carcass, I see a museum piece de resistance. But I am
truly sorry to fans who are upset by this; it's a fair and applaudable
feeling about the health and safety of animals. I respect your views,
please respect mine.'
No criticism from PETA was going to upset Gaga now that's she's back in her home city.
'There's
nothing like Jazz & New York during the holidays. I could just cry
I'm so happy to be home! What a year!' The singer tweeted on Monday.
Hairy: The 28-year-old pop star
sported a thick lime green sweater covered in grey hair that appeared to
belong to the Abominable Snowman
