But Alec Baldwin's wife Hilaria has ensured critics of their marriage are well aware that they are stronger than ever in a series of Christmas Day snaps.
The yoga instructor took to Instagram to share an image of her and her 30 Rock star husband sharing a festive smooch.

The intimate picture came after they celebrated the special day with their one-year-old daughter, Carmen.
Not one to miss out on showing off her flexibility to her online fans, another family picture showed her performing a head stand in front of a Christmas tree while Alec kneels down with their tot, dressed festively in a red dress.
She wrote: 'Merry Christmas!!! Love, us (and upside down-right side up Santa).'
The brunette, who also acts as TV correspondent in the US, had treated fans to a series of snaps of the adorable youngster in the lead up to Christmas.
She uploaded one picture of little Carmen sat at a candlelit table, and wrote: 'The magic of Christmas is amplified through the eyes of a child. How beautiful today has been.'

Hilaria's defiant Christmas Day photo comes three years since they first made a stir after news broke that they were dating.
At the time, the fitness fanatic was 27-years-old, while the actor was 53.
Speaking about their 26 year age gap after the birth of their daughter in August, 2013, Hilaria - who married the star in 2012 - explained to BEACH magazine: ‘I didn’t really think too much of it because we’re so different.
'Everyone has commented on our age difference, and it is big; and I’m not someone who watches TV.
'So he’s somebody completely out of my world - not someone I’d necessarily think of.’
