'I was homeless and on welfare': Face of the '80s Lysette Anthony reveals how she was left destitute after a string of 'expensive husbands'

At the peak of her career she was raking in up to $30,000-per-day after being branded 'the face of the Eighties' by photographer David Bailey.
But actress Lysette Anthony has revealed she was left 'homeless and on welfare' after expensive legal battles with a string of ex-partners.
Things got so bad for the star, most famous for her roles on Woody Allen's Husbands and Wives and sitcom Three Up, Two Down, she couldn't afford to eat.

Talking to The Sunday Telegraph, she explained: 'Over the years I’ve had a lot of expensive husbands. I have been homeless and on welfare. That was during what I called 'the troubles’, and I had a mucky break-up with my son’s stepfather.
'Everyone’s behaving now and that’s fine, but there have been times when I got incredibly thin because I couldn’t really afford to eat.'
The 51-year-old's first marriage was to actor Luc Leestermaker ended in 1995 after just five years. She walked down the aisle for a second time with director David Price, bu they split two years later.
Lysette also went through a high-publicised break up from her partner of six years, BAFTA-nominated composer Simon Boswell, the father of her son, Jimi.

Despite her hardships, Lysette revealed to the Mail on Sunday earlier this year that she had a new man in her life - but she was adamant she had no intention of settling down again.
She insisted: 'I like being on my own, just with Jimi. I don't want another child to look after!'
'There's a lot of love in my world now. I've survived. I'm happy.'
