Beyoncé
has been sued by a Hungarian performer who claims the Grammy-winning
singer used her voice without permission for her hit song Drunk In Love.
The
lawsuit filed by Monika Miczura, also known as Mitsou, claimed that
Beyoncé, husband Jay Z and producer Timbaland used a Roma folk song she
recorded in 1995 for the first 13 seconds of the song, according to an
article on Monday by TMZ.
Beyoncé,
33, and Jay-Z, 45, were featured together in the critically-acclaimed
song that was included in her self-titled studio album released in 2013.

Mitsou claimed the track used her song Bajba, Bajba Pelem by digitally manipulating her voice with Auto-Tune and editing.
The song opens with Arabic-scale vocal arpeggios before transitioning into more familiar hip hop music elements.
Mitsou
also claimed in her lawsuit that Beyoncé transformed her song about
hopelessness 'to evoke foreign eroticism alongside the sexually intense
lyrics.'

The lawsuit was seeking damages and also a court order prohibiting anyone from playing the song with her voice.
Drunk
In Love was one of two singles released by Columbia Records from
Beyoncé's surprise album that she released online with no promotion.
Beyoncé and Jay-z memorably performed the song together at the 56th annual Grammy Awards in January.

The
hit song was later featured in the second European leg of Beyoncé's The
Mrs. Carter Show World Tour and during the couple's joint On The Run
Tour earlier this year.
It also has spawned several remixes and covers including an official reworking by rapper Kanye West.
Beyoncé
and Jay-Z attended the Justin Timberlake concert on Monday in New York
City and Jay-Z treated the crowd to a surprise performance along with
Justin.
