Jake Quickenden's girlfriend 'found out she had been dumped when he announced his single status on I'm A Celebrity'

He has insisted he is single and has been keeping himself entertained by flirting up a storm with Nadia Forde and Kendra Wilkinson in the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! jungle.

But Jake Quickenden's ex-girlfriend Victoria Skerrow is horrified by his behaviour as she claimed he had only asked her if they could take a break for a few weeks and never mentioned anything about a permanent split. 

The heartbroken 24-year-old brunette was shocked when Jake, 26, told viewers they had split a month before he entered the jungle and friends told the Sunday Mirror that she is devastated about being so publicly dumped.

A pal told the publication: 'Jake asked for a break of a couple of weeks. To say she was upset about his behaviour is an understatement. He may want to stay friends but I'm not sure she'll be able to after the way he dumped her so publicly.' 

Jake's representative told the paper: 'Jake will put his side of the story across when he leaves the jungle.'

Jake has been making the most of his single status while in the jungle, flirting with Kendra and TV presenter Melanie Sykes.

But Irish model Nadia, 25, seems to be the main focus of his attention. 

However, while her best pal, Debbie O'Leary, is hopeful that the beauty will find her one true love, she also believes that if the former X Factor contender wants to be in the running, he has his work cut out for him.

Speaking of the pair's flirty exchanges, Debbie told MailOnline exclusively: 'It’s amusing to watch, but I don’t know if there’s going to be a love story out of it.

'Nadia is a hard girl to woo, so Jake will have to work very hard if he was serious. Who knows? It’s hard to tell when you’re in the jungle. You’re in a confined space with a small number of people – but it’s been very interesting to watch.'

And don't forget the cougar: Jake has also enjoyed himself with Melanie Sykes 

Debbie, who has travelled to Australia to represent Nadia's family, believes that the brunette's focus on launching her singing career is one of her main reasons behind keeping men at arm's length.

'I think everybody would like to find somebody at some point – but she’s very focused on her career and she doesn’t let just any man sweep her off her feet,' said Debbie, engaged to Irish and Bath rugby player Peter Stringer.

'She wouldn’t be a big dater, so it would have to be someone special – but I’m sure she’d fall for him if he was worthy.'

'[Jake] seems to be a gentleman. And he’s winning them lots of meals, which is great. I guess we’ll have to see.

'He’s very good looking. Is he her type? I don’t think she has a type. I’m sure he’s most girls’ types.'
