Rumour Has It... Adele 'to take on a new pop sound as she hires producer behind Lily Allen hits' for her highly anticipated album

Since bursting onto the music scene in 2008 with her debut album 19, Adele has been celebrated as one of Britain's most soulful voices.
But after years of carving out a career with R&B-tinged hits, the Grammy winner, 26, is now planning to give her upcoming album more of a pop sound, according to The Sun.
The newspaper reports that she has been toiling away in the studio with American producer Greg Kurtsin, responsible for such hits as Burn by Ellie Goulding and Take That's current chart-topper These Days - as well as Lily Allen's first two albums.

A source said: 'Greg's a genius and one of the powers behind many pop hits. But it's a huge surprise he's working with Adele because it suggests she's considering taking a much more pop-focussed direction for her new record.
'She's also had some serious concerns about the quality of her new album, so this is an indication that she wants a proven hitmaker on board. She knows the whole world is waiting for her new music and wants it to be perfect.'
Just days ago, it was also revealed that Adele was in the studio with Damon Albarn, leading to speculation that he was set to produce her entire album, entitled 25.

While it was initially expected that the follow-up to her acclaimed album 21 would be released later this year, XL Records revealed in October that singer will not be releasing any new music in 2014.
The record company said in a statement: 'There will not be a further new release by Adele during 2014 and consequently there will be a fall in XL's turnover and profits.'
Back in May, Adele teased her fans with a cryptic tweet that read: 'Bye bye 25...See you again later in the year,' with a picture of herself nervously giving a thumbs up.
