Camp Timberlake! Justin does a hilarious school trip skit with Jimmy Fallon as they play teenagers singing Third Eye Blind

Jimmy Fallon often has his Tonight Show guests perform skits with him, but a camp-themed performance on Tuesday with Justin Timberlake might have been the best yet.
In the skit, Jimmy, 40, and Justin, 33, went back in time, landing in 1997 at Camp Winnipesaukee.
Taking on exaggerated versions of their early selves, the two then revelled in singing Third Eye Blind's hit song, Jumper, and playing games of Truth or Dare.

From its very premise, this was, of course, ludicrous, especially with real Justin's rather notable beard.
The '90s jokes were a bit temporally vague, but Justin having a crush on Full House's Kimmy Gibbler would be funny no matter what year it was.
Because no camp skit could be complete without an annoying counsellor, Jimmy and Justin had to deal with one Mr. Fletcher.

Hairy: Justin's beard was, fortunately, commented on as something odd for a camper

Sunblock on his nose and knee-high socks almost reaching his too-short shorts, Fletcher was the perfect caricature of a creepy man in power.
He even was once the victim of a 'wheat accident,' a possible ad lib that sent Jimmy into fits of laughter in the middle of the skit.
Unmentioned but definitely audible in the 1990s references were the Beavis And Butthead voices that both Justin and Jimmy adopted for their younger selves.
Anachronisms: Jimmy was, in 1997, a 23-year-old man getting ready to make his Saturday Night Live debut, no matter how the skit portrayed him

Such random little treats, plus Justin's always-excellent comic timing, were enough to make this skit a hit.
It didn't even matter that, in the real 1997, Justin was 16 and Jimmy was already the ripe old age of 23 - his run on Saturday Night Live began shortly after in 1998.
In a final anachronism, the final round of Third Eye Blind was accompanied by enthusiastic 'running man' dancing.
Cranky counsellor: Mr. Fletcher was the boys' camp counsellor, an odd fellow who claimed to have lost certain bits of himself in a 'wheat accident'

Real laughter: At several points in the skit, Jimmy and Justin burst out laughing - the wheat accident line may have created the most laughter

That move was incredibly uncool at any point after roughly 1992.
Still, one has to be impressed by the skit and the casting, especially since Justin was not a scheduled guest on The Tonight Show on Tuesday.
That honour went instead to Christoph Waltz and Nicki Minaj - Justin was just there to have a little fun.
Jumper love: Throughout the piece, Jimmy and Justin repeatedly sang Jumper by Third Eye Blind, accompanying the tune with a dancing of the 'running man' at the end
