Money can't buy you love and a love cheat can't buy you party supplies.
Tori Spelling found that out the hard way in Los Angeles, California, on Thursday.
The 40-year-old actress got sprung trying to use her estranged husband's credit card at a party supplies store.
The cashier at Absolute Party was less than impressed when the reality star handed over an American Express Platinum card with Dean McDermott's name on it.
The star did produce her estranged husband's driver's license - which she unusually had on her - but adding insult to credit card injury, the plastic was then declined.
Having already loaded up a cart with a huge amount of party supplies - including a pinata in the shape of a minion from Despicable Me - with her children Stella and Liam, Tori was in no mood to put everything back so waited for 30 minutes while the cashier called the credit card company.
While most people would have probably wished the earth swallowed them up they were so embarrassed, the former Beverly Hills 90210 star's credit card drama was all caught on tape - perhaps by design.
Tori is currently being followed around by a camera crew for a new Lifetime docu-drama, True Tori.
The series airs at the end of this month and will show the star's struggles following revelations that her husband had cheated on her.
It will also show their lives now that Dean has entered rehab for 'some health and personal issues'.
It will be the fifth reality show the couple has starred in and their children - Liam, 7, Stella, 5, Hattie, 2, and Finn, 1 - will also be feature.
According to Radaronline, Tori's 47-year-old husband is far from convinced this is a good idea, especially once he leaves rehab.
A source told the website that Dean 'is far from being a willing participant' and was 'extremely pressured' to do the show.
'Tori told him they had to do it because their fans want to know what is going on with their marriage. Too bad Dean doesn’t feel that way,' a source close to the couple told Radar.
'This should be a time of reflection, introspection, healing and figuring out what the next step is for them. The last thing Dean wants to deal with is production schedules and cameras,' added the insider.
'He asked Tori to wait a few months before doing the reality show, he just needs some time…but she insisted it had to be now. Reluctantly Dean agreed because he feels this is all his fault.'
Dean will not have any time to regroup post rehab as Lifetime wants to film the as close to the six one-hour episodes as possible for realness.
The show - which the couple are reportedly getting paid $100,000 - will air on Lifetime on April 22.
