So goodbye to one moody Swede with a dodgy hamstring, hello to an angry Uruguayan with a point to prove.
Chelsea fans dreaming of a fightback may be clinging on to the fact that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be around for tonight’s Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain.
They need to factor Edinson Cavani into the reckoning. He's the man they tried to sign last summer before losing out to the big-spending French side, who - at £55m - made him the fifth most expensive player of all time (Ibrahimovic is No 3).
Jose Mourinho’s plan to ‘attack, attack, attack’ means that Chelsea will inevitably be vulnerable to the counter at Stamford Bridge.

Man on a mission: Paris Saint Germain's Edinson Cavani prepares for the game at Stamford Bridge
Advantage: Thiago Motta, Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi listen in training ahead of the second leg
The last time the South American graced Stamford Bridge he was part of a Napoli team who caved in spectacularly and managed to turn a 4-1 first league into a 5-4 defeat.
Since then he has moved on to PSG for what was a £55million French transfer record and discovered that Ibra is the main man in Paris.
Despite having to take a wider role, Cavani’s goal record stacks up very impressively, especially when compared with Chelsea’s notorious misfiring forwards.
Cavani has 22 goals from 37 games. Demba Ba, Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto’o have 25 between them.
Ba’s five comes from 22 matches, Torres has nine in 34 and ‘old man’ Eto’o 11 from 31.
The main man: Cavani is expected to lead the line in the absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic
On his way? Cavani is believed to be looking for a way out of PSG in the summer
No wonder that Chelsea head a posse of Barclays Premier League clubs jostling to be head of the queue if and when Cavani gets his wish to leave this summer.
PSG have come out this week and say he is going nowhere. In football speak, this means he could go somewhere but it will cost a huge amount of dosh.
Chelsea want a striker, Arsenal ditto, and Manchester United have been caught short in that department this season too.
For club and country: Could Luis Suarez and Cavani be playing in the Premier League together next season?
Face in the crowd: Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss the return leg against Chelsea through injury
Cavani’s immediate task is to help protect last week’s 3-1 first leg lead. Once the season is over, he may well have a chat with good friend and countryman Luis Suarez.
Now there’s a thought – Suarez AND Cavani playing in England? Si Senor.
