It wasn't Kim Kardashian's bare behind that ended up 'breaking the internet' last month, but the meme mockery that ensued.
Now,
after coming forward with her own brave, tech-crunching photoshoot,
Madonna is facing a similar tirade of internet intrigue over her exposed
nipples.
The
56-year-old revealed her breasts in a cut-out corset for a magazine
shoot this week and some social media sharers have now taken it upon
themselves to beat the blonde bombshell's efforts after insinuating that
they appeared a little too plastic.

Nipplegate: Madonna posed with her nipples exposed in cut away lingerie for a cover shoot in this month's Interview magazine
Poking fun: Madonna may be proud of
her famously exposed breasts, but the photo-shoot has prompted the
internet to make some less-than-flattering comparisons - including Matt
Lucas dressed as Little Britain character Bubbles
The Interview magazine
cover shoot shows the mother-of-four at her raunchiest best as she
models a series of sexy outfits while reclining on a bed.
And
the singer certainly had reason to flaunt her figure at as she reaches
her late fifties - she looked body beautiful in suspenders and a lace
corset.
However,
the latest shocking shoot from the Queen of Pop has prompted some
internet users to make some less-than-flattering comparisons.
One
user likened the images to famously shameless footballer Paul 'Gazza'
Gascoigne who was once pictured wearing a pair of plastic breasts.
Boobalicious: The Queen of Pop was also compared to Gazza during his fun-loving '90s hey-day
Just a joke? One famous scene from Blackadder bears a striking resemblance the topless photoshoot
During
the Gazzamania era, he shared his sense of humour by donning the wacky
get-up in the face of the nation's World Cup disappointment in 1990,
when England were kicked out.
Madonna's
chest was also compared to the 'falsies' displayed by Blackadder jokers
Stephen Fry and Rowan Atkinson, which they referred to as 'Devil's
Dumplings' in the medieval show.
Where
Madonna, who made famous the Jean Paul Gaultier cone bra, has
previously been hailed as a trendsetter herself, the icon was accused of
taking inspiration from comedy sketches including Little Britain.
One Tweeter said her pictures looked like they'd been plucked from Matt Lucas' repulsive comedy character, Bubbles DeVere.
Something About Madonna? Users even
likened the Queen of Pop to Cameron Diaz's ageing roommate Magda in
Something About Mary, who famously flashed her wrinkled décolletage in
the 1998 comedy
Much-needed support: Kim Kardashian,
who is no stranger to baring her body for arty photoshoots, reached out
to Madonna on Twitter to praise her for taking a risk
The character wore full body prosthetics in the sketches, which made for uncomfortable viewing in the 2010 show.
Another
compared her heaving bosom to novelty sexy aprons, with prosthetic
breasts stuck on the front, while one particularly cruel tweeter
insisted the Vogue icon resembled Cameron Diaz's platinum blonde
roommate Magda in Something About Mary, who famously flashed her ageing
décolletage in the hit comedy.
However,
she has one supporter who knows all about hitting the headlines thanks
to their own explosive photoshoots - Ms. Kardashian herself.
Kim
took to Twitter on Wednesday to praise Madonna for her courage,
writing: 'This new Madonna shoot for Interview Mag is EVERYTHING!!! She
looks soooo good! Bravo [photographers] Mert & Marcus!'
Controversial: The blonde bombshell is
no stranger to a controversy, famously posing completely naked in her
SEX book, as well as exposing herself during her most recent world tour
