As a visual artist, FKA twigs' aesthetic is something into which she puts a lot of time and effort.
So
it's not a surprise to learn that, at times, she's not a fan of getting
her picture taken when her image isn't perfectly put together.
'Sometimes I really struggle having my picture taken,' the 27-year old tells Vogue, after being named their next Style Breakout Star.

Breakout Style Star: FKA twigs has been championed by Vogue US in their latest issue
Camera shy:
The singer says she finds it hard to be pictured sometimes, though when
her look is perfectly put together she is a vision on stage
The
singer from Gloucestershire has become a key fixture in the public eye
after news of her relationship with Robert Pattinson began to surface
last August.
The
couple have been spotted on numerous occasions around Los Angeles, with
twigs showcasing her individual style though she always seems to cover
up her make-up free face when arriving at airports.
It
seems she puts as much effort into her look as she does into her
minimalist R&B music which earned her a Mercury Prize nomination
this year for her debut album LP1.
Gelled
curls, red lips, braids and a septum piercing have become synonymous
with the singer - real name Tahliah Debrett Barnett - and with the help
of her stylist friend she is able to create original looks every time
she steps out on stage.
Unique: The singer's look has been
created and evolved with the help of her stylist friend Karen Clarkson,
of the London boutique Found And Vision

'Even if there is a punkness to her,' says Karen Clarkson, of the London boutique Found And Vision, 'twigs is naturally chic.'
The
singer also likes to experiment with dance and movements from other
cultures, though she unlikely to buy a Groupon for classes.
'I
want to learn to tango,' she told Vogue, 'but I wouldn't seek it
out—I'll wait to meet someone off the street who could teach me.'
'You
have to give a part of yourself to a particular culture rather than
just borrow [inspiration] from it or enjoy looking cool because you're
there.'
She added: 'Everything you reference, you need to give back to it in some way.'
She
also seemed to confirm to the fashion tome that she would be moving to
New York after her tour and not into her boyfriend's LA home or new
London pad.
It had been reported that Rob was hoping to buy a Georgian house in Islington with a dance studio for his new love.
