It's getting ugly! Chris Rock claims Malaak Compton is keeping their children from him... as he files for divorce after 20 years

They announced on Sunday that they were divorcing after nearly 20 years of marriage.
And it seems that relations between Chris Rock and wife Malaak Compton are already strained, with the comedian claiming in legal documents filed last week that his wife has been preventing him from seeing his daughters on a regular basis.
In divorce papers seen by TMZ the 49-year-old is asking for shared legal and physical custody of their children; 12-year-old Lola and 10-year-old Zahra.

When it comes to finances, the couple had a prenup when they married in 1996 but the Grown Ups star has acknowledged that it expired as they've been together for 19 years.
The split, announce via a statement from both parties, had been in the works for months with Rock reportedly deciding to officially end the marriage.
A source told People 'This was a long time coming. Chris has known it wasn't salvageable for a while. He was the one to file because he knew it was time to just move forward already.'
On Sunday Malaak Compton announced the split saying: 'After much contemplation and 19 years of marriage, Chris and I have decided to go our separate ways,' she said in a statement.

The founder of the nonprofit styleWorks added, 'Being fortunate enough to lead a life of service by working with those most vulnerable makes me well aware of life's blessings, even when faced with difficulties.
'While recognizing that this is a significant change, my children remain at the center of my life and their well-being is my top priority.
'It is in this spirit that I sincerely ask that their privacy and the privacy of our family be respected during this transition in our lives.'

The Death At A Funeral star's attorney Robert S. Cohen also confirmed the split as well.
'Chris Rock has filed for divorce from his wife, Malaak,' he said in a statement.
'This is a personal matter and Chris requests privacy as he and Malaak work through this process and focus on their family.'
The two wed in 1996. In 2010 they were plagued by reports that Rock had fathered a child out of wedlock.
In 2007 there was speculation that they were on the rocks, but Rock defended they were 'happy.'
'The best part is just having a partner,' the Madagascar star said in 2007. 'There is no real worst part. I'm not going to say there's a worst part. I mean, I'm a comedian – comedians like to work alone. So maybe I'm not the ideal guy to be married to, in that sense.'
