Jake
Wood became the latest celebrity to leave Strictly Come Dancing on
Sunday evening, narrowly missing out on a spot in the final.
And
now the EastEnders actor is out of the running, Caroline Flack, Frankie
Bridge, Mark Wright and Simon Webbe are left to battle it out for the
coveted Glitterball trophy next weekend.
While
TV presenter Caroline and The Saturdays singer Frankie have
consistently impressed with their nimble footwork and passionate moves,
Mark and Simon have both slowly improved week-on-week, emerging as the
underdogs of the competition.

Following
on from pop princess Pixie Lott’s shock elimination last week, it seems
the final could be anyone’s game. Who will be crowned Strictly Come
Dancing 2014 champion?
CAROLINE FLACK:
The
former Xtra Factor presenter has been a frontrunner since day one,
consistently ranking near the top of the leaderboard and earning high
praise from the judges.
Caroline
and her dance partner Pasha Kovalev earned the first 40 of the series
on Saturday night, reaching an all-time high with their fiery Salsa.
Favourite to win: Caroline Flack has overtaken Frankie Bridge as the bookies' favourite
Delighted: The star and her dance partner Pasha Kovalev were overjoyed about making the final
TODAY'S POLL
She’s
come a long way since the first week of the competition, when her
lacklustre Cha-Cha-Cha scored her an average 27, and has boasted the
highest scoring dance an impressive five times, only landing in the
bottom two once.
Bookies’
odds: Caroline is the favourite to win the competition, with odds of
4/5 at William Hill, 8/11 at Paddy Power and 4/5 at Ladbrokes.
FRANKIE BRIDGE:
The
Saturdays singer has been hot on Caroline’s heels throughout the
competition. She has boasted the highest average score overall during
her twelve weeks on the dancefloor and is the only star to have escaped
the dreaded dance-off.
Strong contestant: Frankie Bridge has accumulated highest overall score throughout the competition
Twinkletoes: The Saturdays singer is the second favourite for the win, close behind Caroline
The
popular brunette holds the record for the highest-scoring Viennese
Waltz and Argentine Tango – 38 points for both – and her lowest ranking
performances were a respectable 30 for both the Waltz and the
Charleston.
However, her dance training background and her near perfect track record might go against her.
Bookies’
odds: Frankie is the second favourite for the win, with odds of 2/1 at
William Hill, at 7/4 Paddy Power and 7/4 at Ladbrokes.
Comeback king: Simon Webbe has emerged as a real contender in recent weeks
SIMON WEBBE:
Blue hunk Simon never expected to make the semi-final and only emerged as a real contender in recent weeks.
The
singer has remained in the competition by the skin of his teeth,
landing in the bottom two three times. He received his worst score of 23
for a mediocre Rumba, but redeemed himself with his stellar Argentine
Tango in week eight, receiving 38 points from the judges.
Viewers
were surprised when the judges sent home hot favourite Pixie Lott
instead of Simon last weekend and it seems he now could be a serious
threat.
Underdog: Simon Webbe couldn't believe his luck at making it through to the final week
Bookies’
odds: Simon is unlikely to compete with the girls, with odds of 8/1 at
William Hill, 7/1 at Paddy Power and 8/1 at Ladbrokes.
MARK WRIGHT:
Arguably the weakest dancer remaining, the TOWIE star has nevertheless proved popular with viewers.
Like
Simon, the cheeky Essex chappie was also in the dance-off three times
with his dance partner Karen Hauer, but has scraped through thanks to
his infectious enthusiasm and capacity to learn from his mistakes.
He
is the only finalist to have never had a top scoring performance, with
his scores ranging from a 24 for the Cha-Cha-Cha to a 36 for the
Charleston.
Bookies’
odds: Mark is lagging behind and is expected to be given the boot
first, with odds of 10/1 at William Hill, 7/1 at Paddy Power and 12/1 at
Ladbrokes.
Close call: Mark Wright thought he was going home when he landed in the dance-off for the third time
Mr. Popular: The former TOWIE star has a strong fan base that has kept him on in the competition
