It
may have been Rihanna's charity event, held in he extravagant Vineyard
in Beverly Hills, but Kim Kardashian and mother Kris Jenner almost
managed tosteal the spotlight from the singer.
All eyes were on the reality pair as they arrived on the red carpet in rather revealing ensembles on Thursday.
Kim,
34, paid little attention to the colder Los Angeles climate, arriving
in a plunging leotard with a black mesh dress and strappy sandals.

Only a floor length satin-style coat helped protect Kim from the chill.
Clutching
a coordinating lacy bag, the star's hair was scraped back into a sleek
updo and smokey eye make-up and pale matte lipstick completed the look.
Her
59-year-old mother meanwhile, was rather racy in a low cut double
breasted black suit over a sheer lace blouse which showed off a great
deal of her cleavage.
Kris wore bright red lipstick and T-bar black patent heels teamed with a small textured clutch.

Rihanna
was a lot more colourful, arriving in a stunning off-the-shoulder pink
satin mermaid-style gown which clung to her curves.
She wore her black hair ion a sleek swept over style with a side parting with a long low ponytail down her back.
A chunky silver and pink pendant and crimson lipstick added to her dramatic look.
The 26-year-old was supported by members of her family including mother Monica who wore a bright red frock.

Rihanna's Diamond Ball is the first in what is likely to be an annual event.
The
black-tie fundraiser benefits The Clara Lionel Foundation - a charity
the singer named in honor of her grandparents Clara and Lionel
Braithwaite and which 'seeks to improve quality of life in areas of
health, education, culture and arts for communities across the globe.'
'One
of the greatest benefits of my job was being able to start the Clara
Lionel Foundation in honor of my grandparents,' the singer said in a
statement, as reported by Rolling Stone.
'There
is truly nothing I'm more proud of, and we've just gotten started,' she
said. 'I'm excited to continue my work and thrilled to be able to host
the Diamond Ball – a night that promises to be elegant and
inspirational.'

Rihanna
was due to perform with a live orchestra at the event after being
introduced by Brad Pitt, while Jimmy Kimmel played host.
Kimmel arrived with his wife, show writer Molly McNearney, who looked pretty in a white dress.
The
ball was expected to be attended by an estimated 600 guests 'ranging
from entertainment and business executives to celebrities and
philanthropists,' according to a press release.

was excited about the bash, tweeting: 'Feel so lucky to have an evening

change and save lives at any cost!

added: 'There's so much to do, and I can't do it all by myself, so I
have to thank all of the supporters of and people who donated to
#TheClaraLionelFoundation. 'Looking forward to seeing you later this
evening.'
And
the singer got a good showing from her famous friends - Salma Hayek
looked particularly striking in a bright pink short sleeved dress with
jewelled sash.

Nikki sporting a strappy black and tanned striped dress with a sheer
hem.
Without
boyfriend Ian Somerhalder, Nikki happily posed next to his Vampire
Diaries co-star Kat who sported a plum coloured plunging gown with sheer
black long sleeves.
