Pop
princesses Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande and Katy Perry are set to battle
for one of the most prestigious prizes at the 2015 Grammy Awards.
The trio are all up for the Best Pop Vocal Album: Cyrus for Bangerz, Grande for My Everything and Perry for Prism.
They
will go up against Coldplay [Ghost Stories], Ed Sheeran [X] and soul
sensation Sam Smith, whose Into The Lonely Hour rounded out the
category.

Competition:
Miley will go up against Ariana Grande and Katy Perry, who are up for
the same award for their respective albums My Everything and Prism
The
British hitmaker is also up for Record of the Year for his stand-out
track Stay With Me. He faces competition from Iggy Azalea [Fancy], Sia
[Chandelier], Taylor Swift [Shake it Off] and Meghan Trainor with All
About That Bass.
Smith and Azalea will also fight for the Best New Artist alongside Brandy Clark, Haim, and Bastille.
The first four categories were announced by Ed Sheeran and Pharrell Williams live on US TV on Friday morning.
Pharrell
had to read out a nomination for himself in the Best Urban Contemporary
album for G I R L. His competition includes Beyonce's self-titled fifth
album, Chris Brown and newcomers Mali Music and Jhene Aiko.
The Best Country Album nominees include Dierks Bentley, Brandy Clark, Eric Church, Lee Ann Womack and Miranda Lambert.
As
for country songs, nods have been given to Kenny Chesney [American
Kids], Tim McGraw [Meanwhile Back At Mama's], Miranda Lambert
[Automatic], Eric Church [Give Me Back My Homeown] and Glen Campbell
[I'm Not Going to Miss You.

The Happy hitmaker already picked up four revered Gramophone statuettes at the 2014 ceremony earlier this year.
American
Idol host Ryan Seacrest than took to Twitter to announce the Best Pop
Solo Performance hopeful - and Williams, Swift and Smith made another
appearance.
They are nominated for the prize alongside John Legend and Sia.
Meanwhile
Sam - who performed on taped special A Very GRAMMY Christmas, set to
air in America on Friday - admitted he has his fingers crossed that he
can add a Grammy to his mantelpiece.
He
said: 'I'm scared. It's like Christmas Eve right now for me. I'd love
my album to get that platform so I don't know. Fingers crossed.'

it comes to rock 'n' roll, the acts up for Best Rock Song are Paramore
[Ain't It Fun], Beck [Blue Moon], The Black Keys [Fever], Ryan Adams
[Gimme Something Good] and Jack White [Lazaretto].
In the Best Rock Album line-up is U2, Ryan Adams, Beck, The Black Keys and Tom Petty.
The 57th Grammy Awards will air live Feb. 8 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
A Very GRAMMY Christmas will also feature performances from Pharrell, Ariana Grande, and Maroon 5.
More nominees will be announced during the day, with all 83 categories being revealed by 2pm ET.
