It's the great debate which has taken over social media.
And now A-listers from across the globe are weighing in on what colours a specific dress is - blue and black or white and gold.
American
singer Taylor Swift, 25, took to Twitter on Thursday to share her
thoughts, telling her millions of followers: 'I don't understand this
odd dress debate and I feel like it's a trick somehow. I'm confused and
scared. PS it's OBVIOUSLY BLUE AND BLACK.'
Joining in: American singer Taylor
Swift, pictured at the BRIT Awards in London, has joined the social
media debate about the colourful dress which took the internet by storm
on Thursday
Her two cents: The 25-year-old seems to strongly believe the tricky frock is blue and black
Reality
TV star Kim Kardashian had her own opinion, asking fans: 'What color is
that dress? I see white & gold. Kanye sees black & blue, who is
color blind?'
The social media storm started after an image of a striped and lace dress was posted on Tumblr by user Swiked on Wednesday.
Along
with the shot, which appears to be taken on a mobile, the user wrote:
'Guys please help me - is this dress white and gold, or blue and black?
Me and my friends can’t agree and we are freaking the f**k out.'
Now
millions across the world are arguing as to what colours the dress is,
with some even seeing it as different colours each time they look at
it.
Grammy Award winning artist Taylor clearly believes the frock is blue and black, with actress Mindy Kaling agreeing.
'What colour is that dress?' Reality TV star Kim Kardashian added her input while asking fans what they saw
What colour is it? The debate raged as
to whether the frock was blue and black or white and gold, with many
coming up with theories as to why no decision could be made on the
fabrics hues
'Are you f**king kidding me':
Comedienne Mindy Kaling, 35, agreed with Taylor, telling her millions of
followers exactly what she thought
'IT'S A BLUE AND BLACK DRESS! ARE YOU F**KING KIDDING ME,' penned the 35-year-old comedienne.
It seems Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale doesn't know what to believe, with her eyes playing tricks on her.
The
25-year-old American actress told her Twitter followers: 'I saw white
and gold, then I saw blue and black. Now I'm confused.'
Outside of the box: Lady Gaga gave her own unique interpretation of the colour in response to a curious fan
In the moment: Actress and singer Ariana Grande didn't seem too impressed by the whole trend
Stop asking? The 21-year-old cheekily hinted that she was sick of the running commentary
She
also added a cheeky Tweet referring to the fact that the garment is not
exactly appealing, penning: 'Either way...I'm not gonna be wearing that
dress.'
Pint
sized songstress Ariana Grande, 21, seemed tired of fans asking for her
opinion, playfully Tweeting: 'If one more person asks me what color I
think this damn dress is.'
In
response to a follower, Lady Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, gave
her own interpretation, revealing: 'It's periwinkle and sand.'
'What is happening': Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick seemed rather confused, adding her playful attitude to this Tweet
Not her style: A confused Lucy Hale,
known for playing Aria on Pretty Little Liars, changed her mind before
revealing she would never wear the frock
'If
that's not White and Gold the universe is falling apart. Seriously what
is happening????' asked Anna Kendrick, apparently overwhelmed by the
dress drama.
But the debacle didn't stop there, with Miley Cyrus and Blake Lively also chiming in.
Singer
Miley asked: 'What's the deal with this f**king dress? #blueandblack,'
while Blake kept her distance from any curse words, simply captioning
via Instagram: 'My mind is blown. What do you guys see??'
Joining the rest: Avid social media user Miley Cyrus threw in a swear word for her opinion
Many faces of Miley: The 22-year-old, who is known for posting fan edits, also shared this fun snap from a follower
