Dean Wicks will find himself face to face with the police this week as he fends off questions about the rape of Linda Carter.
Accompanied
by duty solicitor Katie McCoy, Dean (Matt D’Angelo), is confronted by
PC Vanessa Jenkins and DC Stephen Franklin as they investigate the Queen
Vic landlady’s claims.
But viewers will have to wait until Friday to see the outcome.
Feeling the heat: Accompanied by duty

A
dramatic resolution is to be expected as Linda’s rape storyline enters
its final stages, and producer Dominic Treadwell insists viewers will be
satisfied with the conclusion.
‘We're
not The Bill. That show was about the police solving things. I don't
have main characters who are police officers,’ he said.
‘We
have tried very hard to create police characters who are interesting and
who have their own stories. And there are more police twists coming up.
But that's not who my viewers are tuning in to see.
Face to face: Dean Wicks, played by Matt D'Anglelo, talks to duty solicitor Katie McCoy, played by Linda Armstrong
‘They
want to see Linda and Mick. They're the people they care about and not
the police. So the police solving it is not satisfying for the viewer.’
Fans
of the show recently saw furious Mick Carter, played by Danny Dyer,
take matters into his own hands and storms over to his brother’s hair
salon, Blades.
Although,
the family have got the police involved, the soap's executive producer
revealed that Dean won't be facing justice through the courts.
'In
real life, a lot of people don't get their comeuppance. There will have
to be a satisfying ending to the story, but it won't be what you
expect,' he said back in October.
Quiet reflection: Dean looks panic stricken after being left alone with his thoughts in the episode, which airs on January 30th
'The
easy and wrong way to tell the story would be to have Dean arrested and
taken off to prison. I'd loved to have done a big trial, but there
won't be one.'
Meanwhile Kellie Bright, who plays Linda, admitted she hopes her character will have a direct confrontation with rapist Dean.
‘Recently, I've been feeling very strongly that Linda should have a face to face with Dean,’ she said.
‘There are a lot of people fighting for Linda and I personally want to see Linda fight for herself.’
