'People think I'm a b***h': Pretty Little Liars star Ashley Benson explains her guarded personality in new interview for Wonderland

Ashley Benson is known for playing the outgoing and outspoken Hanna Marin on Pretty Little Liars.

However, in real life the 25-year-old is quite the introvert, revealing in the most recent issue of Wonderland that she's often closed off.

'When people first meet me, they always think that I’m a b***h. I always get called that. Always,' she admitted. 'Because I don’t talk.'

The blonde beauty posed for the magazine first in a red chiffon shirt and yellow, red and black wool mix skirt by Miu Miu, before modeling a more muted black Christian Dior cardigan and yellow straw hat.

She seemed sullen as she posed in a black floral silk blazer by Saint Laurent, as well as a long black skirt and red Miu Miu sweater.

Her final two looks consisted of a black sweater with floral embellishments by Fendi - which she accessorized with a pearl ring, and a white button down shirt and Marc Jacobs blue jeans.

Ashley discussed her popular ABC Family series, Pretty Little Liars, laughing about the fact that she's just as confused as the fans are about what's happening with the mystery.

'I’m so confused about the show myself,' she said. 'Everyone’s like, ‘What’s happening?’ I’m like, ‘I honestly don’t know.'

'I think they want to do more, and a film,' Ashley said of the show's popularity. 'It never stops getting bigger. I’m like, ‘The fact that you guys still like it after five seasons of not knowing who the hell ‘A’ is, I applaud you.’'

The star - who's been made incredibly popular by the show, with 5.3 million fans on Instagram - revealed that she's not quite as bubbly as her character Hanna - at least, not at first. 

'Weirdly, I’m shy,' she said. 'I get really nervous in public situations, but once you get to know me, I’m so outgoing, I’m so loud and bombastic. I have the biggest mouth.'

'But [at first] I’m very closed off. I hold in emotions,' the actress gushed. 'I don’t like to be vulnerable, ever.'
