Amanda Holden at the centre of Twitter backlash as she sends 9-year-old daughter to school dressed as Pretty Woman prostitute for fancy dress day

A parenting group has slammed TV star Amanda Holden for posting a picture of her nine-year-old daughter 'dressed as a prostitute' online.
The Britain's Got Talent judge tweeted the photo of her child next to the caption: '1990's day at Lexi's school today. Julia Roberts 'Pretty Woman'.'
However, within minutes the star had received a large number of comments from her stunned followers, prompting her to quickly remove the image.
Her bizarre move has now been criticised by a parents' group, who warned of the dangers of posting 'inappropriate' and 'sexualised' photos of youngsters on the internet.
Holden later released a statement insisting the youngster was dressed as Cindy Crawford but Holden's husband, Chris Hughes, mistook her for Roberts and posted the picture.

In the picture, the little girl is dressed in a red, strapless gown, imitating Julia Roberts' famous on-screen character in the 1990 movie.
She posed next to a piano and looked down at her feet in the photo, which showed her fancy dress costume for school.
Holden, a 43-year-old mother-of-two who is married to record producer Chris Hughes, deleted the image from her timeline after eight minutes.
Cathy Ranson, editor of parenting site Netmums, branded Holden's actions 'a step too far' and warned the star of the dangers of posting such pictures online.
She said: 'Amanda Holden is famed for selfies, such as the recent bum flash – but posting sexualised pictures of your junior school aged daughter is a step too far.'
'Most parents wouldn't consider it appropriate to dress their daughter as a film prostitute for a school project and certainly wouldn't want to plaster the picture on the internet.
'Amanda has been very open about her battle to become a mum and clearly loves her kids - but although she had the sense to take down the image quickly, it could still be shared and used inappropriately.'

Holden later released a statement which reads: 'The truth is that Lexi went to school as Cindy Crawford for her school '90s Day - not Julia Roberts - as anyone who heard me yesterday at BGT - and indeed the teachers at Lexi's school - will confirm.

Cathy Ranson, editor of Netmums
'However my husband thought she looked more like Julia Roberts, without any thought to any interpretation.
'Although given that she is a 9 year old girl it seems completely unbelievable and disturbing that anyone could or would put such an interpretation on it.
'He hit the wrong button and posted it on my twitter account- but removed it as soon as he realised.'
Pretty Woman tells the story of a woman - Vivian - who falls in love with a wealthy businessman, Edward, played by Richard Gere.
However, although the Cinderella story has a happy ending, it begins with Vivian working as a prostitute on the streets.
Fans were quick to criticise Amanda's choice of clothing for her young daughter, with many branding her irresponsible.
One Twitter user wrote: 'Amanda Holden dressed her daughter up as Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman? A woman who had sex with an old man to get money and nice things.'
