Zayn Malik performs in Perth after concerns he and Louis Tomlinson were caught in Cyclone Marcia in Australia...before falling falling ill and leaving stage mid-show

Fans of One Direction have taken to social media to wish Zayn Malik a speedy recovery, after the 22-year-old fell ill during the band's concert in Perth, Australia on Friday night.

The dark-haired singer opened the show with fellow band members Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson, remaining on stage until midway through the concert at Domain Stadium.

With blonde heart throb Niall then revealing Zayn had fallen ill backstage and would not return, fans began tweeting the hashtag #GetWellSoonZayn which eventually trended worldwide.

'A one direction concert without zayn is like a religion without a god #GetWellSoonZayn (sic),' one fan wrote on social media platform Twitter. 

Meanwhile another passionately expressed their concern for the heart throb, writing: 'OMG @zaynmalik you are sick! :''( I could cry!! :'( Are you ok!? Will you be ok?! My heart is sinking right now! Oh #GetWellSoonZayn please! (sic)'. 

News quickly spread to fans internationally, with some contemplating jetting Down Under to see how their favourite pop star was doing. 

Appearing on stage for the first half of the show, Zayn wore a white printed T-shirt teamed with black trousers.

His long dark locks were tied back in a ponytail, revealing his edgy buzz cut,as he moved around on stage.

Also wearing black and white was Niall, the 21-year-old sporting a white T-shirt splashed with a bold black pattern. 

Liam, 21, wore a monochrome Adidas T-shirt, and along with Zayn, didn't hesitate to flaunt his statement arm tattoos.

Meanwhile Harry and Louis decided to inject some colour into their onstage look, opting for red hot attire.
