It looked like Amy Adams had stepped right out of Little House On The Prairie on Saturday.
The
actress donned a full-length shirt dress for a lunch date at the Fig
And Olive in West Hollywood, with the heat hitting a sizzling 86 degrees
Fahrenheit.
The
blue and white striped frock - cinched at the waist by a brown belt
that tied rather than buckled - looked like something a pioneer woman
would have worn out on the plains back in the 1850s.
Home on the range: Amy Adams wore a
striped shirt dress that looked like something a pioneer woman would
have worn 150 years ago, as she went for lunch at the FIg And Olive in
West Hollywood on Saturday
It
was lined with a white petticoat that was clearly on view as the
40-year-old had unbuttoned the front of the dress to above the knee.
And
Amy maintained the olde worlde look by tying up her red tresses in a
tight bun as many women would have done back in the day.
The American Hustle star accessorised with a pair of wedge-heeled sandals and a brown leather bag.
Little
House On The Prairie: The ankle-length garment was lined with a white
petticoat and tied at the waist with a leather belt, adding to the
homely look
She
protected her eyes from the bright sunlight with a large pair of shades
and she carried $5 in her hand ready to tip the valet bringing her
car.
It
was a very rare fashion faux pas for the normally chic five-time Oscar
nominee, known for her sartorial elegance on and off the red carpet.
Amy
stunned in a blue strapless gown by Versace at the Oscars last month,
and a white Lanvin column dress at the British Academy Film Awards that
took place the week before.
Retro style: The 40-year-old added to
her pioneer appearance by pulling her red tresses into a tight bun, as
many women did back in the day
She chose a bright red trouser suit for Tom Ford's Fashion Show in Los Angeles last month.
Meanwhile Amy, who shares four-year-old daughter Aviana with her longtime fiancé Darren Le Gallo, has a busy year ahead of her.
The
two-time Golden Globe winner is reprising her role as Daily Planet
reporter Lois Lane in director Zack Snyder's 2016 film Batman v
Superman: Dawn of Justice alongside Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben
Affleck as Batman.
She has also signed up for The Justice League Part One, due out in 2017.
That's more
like it: Last month Amy wore blue Versace to the Oscars in Hollywood, a
white Lanvin column dress to the Baftas in the UK and a red trouser
suit for Tom Ford's Fashion Show in Los Angeles
