Cristiano Ronaldo shows his pedigree by taking selfie with pet Labrador as Real Madrid star gears up for new season

As he prepares to embark on another season with Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo took time out of pre-season preparations by taking a selfie with his pet Labrador Marosca.

Ronaldo and Co are preparing for their Bernabeu Trophy clash against Galatasaray, their final pre-season match of the summer, before they begin their La Liga campaign on Sunday August 23. 

Ahead of next Tuesday's match at the Santiago Bernabeu, Ronaldo greeted his fans on Instagram with a picture of him and his pet pooch.

Ronaldo joined the rest of the Real Madrid squad at the club's Valdebebas training ground this week as Rafa Benitez prepares for his first La Liga match as the club's manager. 

Benitez watched on as his players were put through their paces on Tuesday, while they also worked on technical and tactical aspects of their game.

Real have only managed two goals in their last four friendlies and Benitez will be hoping the return of Ronaldo will put at end to his side's struggle in front of goal.
