EXCLUSIVE: Rock star Richie Sambora has a new love now, but he celebrates his ex Cher by releasing cover of pop hit 'I Got You Babe' on 50th anniversary of the duet classic


Hall of Fame songwriter and singer Richie Sambora has a new woman now - Australian superstar Orianthi - but he has produced and recorded  the No. 1 1960's hit “I Got You Babe” on his up and coming album for his former lover, Cher.
'It’s a tribute one the greatest lady’s and Sonny’s incredible artistic talent,' Sambora tells Daily Mail Online exclusively.

Sambora, 55, who was Cher’s lover and live-in boyfriend in the late 80’s when Sambora was writing and performing back-to-back world tours with Bon Jovi.
Sonny and Cher released the top ten duet classic 50 years ago today - on July 9th 1965. It was the the top of the US Billboard Chart as well as No.1 in the United Kingdom and Canada for three weeks.
Insiders say record executives who have heard the remake have been blown away.
