Southampton's
Sadio Mane scored the fastest hat-trick in Premier League history with
strikes in the space of two minutes and 56 seconds as Tim Sherwood's
Aston Villa were humbled on Saturday.
The
Senegalese winger found the net after 12 mins 22 secs, 13 mins 46 secs
and 15 mins 18 secs before Shane Long got in on the act with a double of
his own, first rolling into an open net and then chipping in from
range.
Christian
Benteke rose above Jose Fonte to head into the top corner on the stroke
of half-time as his side went into the break 5-1 down.
A much-improved second half couldn't heal the damaging scoreline and
Graziano Pelle picked up a deserved goal of his own with an 81st-minute volley at the end of a pinpoint cross from Mane.
